Common questions.

Most things people ask before they book. Filter by topic or scroll. Still have a question? The bottom of the page tells you what to do.

Booking opens the first Sunday of each month at 10am EST. The request form takes about three minutes — you'll find it under Request → in the nav.

Once submitted, I'll write back within two to three days. If your request is a fit, the next email contains a deposit link. If it isn't, I'll always reply — and usually pass along an artist who might be a better match.

Currently booking July and August 2026. Most months I open 8–12 slots and the slots fill within the first 24 hours. If a date doesn't open up by the time you're ready, the next month's request window will.

Studio minimum is $250. Hourly rate is $340/hr. Most small fine-line pieces (under 50mm) end up between $250–$420. Medium pieces $420–$760. Large pieces are quoted individually.

Flash pieces have fixed prices shown on the Flash page. The Reserve button takes you straight to a pre-filled request.

A 25% non-refundable deposit secures your appointment. The deposit is paid by card via a Stripe link in the confirmation email — no charges happen on the request itself.

The deposit comes off the final price on session day. The remainder is paid in cash, Venmo, or Zelle.

Reschedules with 72+ hours notice transfer the deposit to a new date — no questions, no judgement. Less than 72 hours and the deposit is forfeit, except in genuine emergencies (medical, family, etc.) which we'll figure out together.

Printed instructions go home with you the day of, and I mail a small zine with deeper detail about a week later. Mostly: gentle soap, fragrance-free moisturiser, no soaking, no sun.

The fine-line and single-needle work I do is quite different from heavier traditional pieces — gentler healing, but more sensitive to friction. The zine covers it all.

Yes — free touch-ups within 60 days of the session, if the piece needs anything. After 60 days, regular hourly rates apply.

Most fine-line pieces don't need touch-ups if aftercare goes well. The zine helps with that.

142 Frost St, Apt 3R, Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The building has an elevator — the studio is fully wheelchair-accessible and step-free from the lobby. The buzzer is unlabeled, ring 3R when you arrive. Full directions and transit options on the Visit page.

One person is fine — there's a small couch they can sit on. The studio is small and intimate, so groups of more than two get cramped fast. If you're flying in and want to bring multiple people, let me know and we'll figure something out.

Margot. Friendly, will probably sit near the chair, doesn't bite. If you're allergic, tell me when you book — I can keep her in the back room and air the studio out beforehand. The space is professionally cleaned between sessions either way.

No. New York requires tattoo recipients to be 18 or older, and I check ID for every appointment. No exceptions, parental consent or otherwise.

I don't tattoo while you're pregnant or breastfeeding — not because there's strong evidence of harm, but because the field doesn't have great research yet, and I'd rather be conservative. We can hold your appointment for after.

Yes — but probably less than you think. Single-needle work is quite different from traditional tattooing; the sensation is closer to a sustained scratch than a sharp puncture.

Pain varies dramatically by placement. Wrist, hand, ribcage, sternum, and feet are more sensitive. Outer arm, calf, and thigh are most forgiving. We'll talk through it before we start.

Still have a question?

Email is the best way to reach me — I check in the mornings and reply within a couple of days. The booking form has space for anything else worth knowing.
